The 14th edition of
Figueira Beach Rugby, the most iconic European Beach Rugby Festival, promises once again to be an unforgettable experience for everyone who takes part.
It is said that reaching the top is not difficult. The difficult thing is to maintain ourselves. Figueira Beach Rugby is an excellent example of this, as after 13 editions, the 14th promises to have even more teams and add new nations.
If in recent years the contingents of French, Belgian and Dutch teams were the ones that stood out the most in terms of the number of international teams, in 2024 the scenario changes.
The United Kingdom contingent comprises 7 teams, 6 English and 1 Scottish, placing the United Kingdom in third place among nations with the most teams, just behind the French and Dutch fleets with 10 teams each.
Germany, Italy and Belgium are then tied for fourth place in the ranking with 2 teams each.
With just 1 representative, Ireland, a nation making its debut in the event, and Spain appear.
And Portugal?! Will the host country be represented at the highest level?!
As expected, the Portuguese armada will be the most represented, with 20 teams currently confirmed, with even more confirmations expected. This will in fact be the most international edition of Figueira Beach Rugby with 36 international teams and at least 20 national teams, surpassing the maximum number of teams in one edition of the most iconic European Beach Rugby event dating back to 2016!
